Oh My! The Mother Lode

Tonight I was on Sephora's website looking at all the new holiday sets that came out for this season.  I haven't been keeping up with what's new so I hadn't really heard of anything that would catch my eye. But OMG I came across Urban Decay and saw the coolest Limited Edition set so far.  Technically not a holiday set, but very special indeed.

As a Limited Edition Collectors' set, Urban Decay created and called it "The Mother Lode Shadow Set".  Eyeshadow fans you got yourself a complete set of Urban Decay's loved eyeshadows, not just a few but  68 colors in all.  Plus you also get a Build Your Own palette to pick and choose which shadows you want to carry around.

"The Mother Lode Shadow Set"

 What Sephora says:

To celebrate the relaunch of their bestselling Eyeshadow, Urban Decay created the ultimate collector’s set—a kit so exclusive, it will only be around for a limited time. The comprehensive set includes all Urban Decay’s shades in full-size, individual pop-out compacts, from super smooth mattes, pearly satins and shades loaded with shimmer and glitter, to gorgeous duotones that change color before your eyes. Use the enclosed four-pan Build Your Own Palette to create your own customized collection, and then swap out shades whenever the urge strikes.

The set retails at $595 but valued at $1234.  When I saw the price my mouth nearly dropped. Who would spend that much on shadows?  Then I got to calculating the prices and found that if you really get down to details this set is definitely quite a deal.  For an empty palette and 68 shadows, you are literally paying about $8.50 a shadow compared to the $18 retail price for each shadow.  The price for this set is about 50% off retail.

The only thing that would be hard for me is actually forking over that much money all at one time for the set.  I tend to buy things one at a time over time not all at once.  But if you really think about it, I may be spending much more money over time than all at once.  Do I make any sense? lol.

Now if only I can pull out a whopping $600 out of my wallet then maybe just maybe I would get it.  This is definitely a collector's item and for any ultimate Urban Decay fans, but for now, I'll just stare at it and add it to my wishlist.

You can only buy the Mother Lode online at Sephora.com.

Sandals for Fall?

Quick Favorite of the Summer for you guys!

Earlier in the summer I posted that I got a pair of Sam Edelman Gigi sandals and how excited I was, however after awhile I wasn't so excited.  I don't know.  The shoes weren't as comfortable as I thought it was going to be, my heels couldn't last that long, so I didn't wear them as much.

I did however pick up another pair of sandals.  It was a pair of brown Jessica Simpson sandals found at Marshalls.  Now this pair I found myself wearing it almost everywhere.  I found it more comfortable on my feet and with more support.  I definitely loved this buy.

Yes, its Fall season already and its boots season but since its practically summer here all year long, this pair will definitely be one I will still be wearing.  Need to go find me another back up pair.

Elf Cosmetics on Sale @ Target

With Elf Cosmetics being sold at such a good price who needs a discount right? Well I'm sure we all need a bit of a discount from time to time.

If you are heading to Target anytime soon make sure to check and see if your Target is discounting their Elf Cosmetics section.  I found mines discounted to 15% off which is usually the starting amount.  If you get lucky they may even discount it up to 30-50% off which is totally awesome.  The only downside would be items would probably get picked over and broken, which is why you go now.

I'm assuming that they are clearing their stock for Holiday collections coming out so once those arrive the old stock will be taken out.

Let's Eat Some Cake

Been baking quite a bit in my kitchen lately.  I get into phases like this once in awhile where I love to cook or bake certain things at a time.  I quit baking for awhile now, but finally got back into trying to discover new techniques and frosting.

Here's what I made today:

Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese Filling and Whipped Icing topped with Fresh Fruit

I love whipped iced cakes its so much lighter and not as sweet.  I don't really eat red velvet cake, but the friend insisted as she loves it so I made it for her.  Still working on getting the frosting and art work correctly but I think I'm heading the right way.

I SPY Rebecca Minkoff!

My weekly trip to TJ Maxx helped me spot an awesome find.  Once in awhile TJ Maxx and Marshalls would have designer handbags such as Coach, Michael Kors, and DKNY, however I've never seen one with this brand.

Maybe since this TJ Maxx had just open, newer items were stocked, but I'm not sure.  I guess its always a hit and miss at these stores.

I actually found a few Rebecca Minkoff bags at this store and though still very expensive ($100+) it was still a bargain steal from the original price.  I didn't buy it, because my wallet would cry, but thought maybe I'll share a photo so that some of you lucky ladies can find some too.

I don't have the information of the type of bag and the price.  I was in a hurry (well actually the Mr.) so I took a quick picture and left.  Its definitely cute statement bag, super bright pink, perfect for any girl out there.  Now if it was like in black or a neutral color, I may have had second thoughts about getting it, but maybe next time.

Finally H&M! Online Shopping

If you haven't already heard or read about it, after a long wait, H&M finally opens up an online store for many of us that cannot get to one locally.

I'm grateful that H&M has opened up 3 stores in my area, however before there was any, I couldn't go anywhere near to find an H&M.  The nearest one was 4 hours away, which is a no go for me, it was just too far.  I was also one who wondered why H&M never had an online store, which would be so convenient for me especially since its so popular. Now the wait is over for the many who has longed to shop at H&M.

You can view the fashion on their website here at H&M.

Some of my favorites that are already in my cart:

After browsing some, I did notice that the website still doesn't have as much items as a normal online shop would have.  I imagine the company is still adding products to the site and will have more to come.  Can't wait for more to come because I'm definitely in the mood for shopping.

Sam Edelman "Gigi" Haul

Quick haul post for the blog! Too many things been happening. New job, New baby, New everything!

Summer's here so I decided to get myself a new pair of sandals.  I've been eyeing Sam Edelman sandals for awhile now but I couldn't justify paying the prices for sandals.  Living here in Florida, sandals are our primary shoes that we were since its practically summer year round.  So sandals are a necessity in my book.

I finally found a Sam Edelman "GiGi" sandal that I've been wanting especially in black which seems to always be out of stock.  Super cute, but not as quite comfortable as I would like, but oh well as long as it works for me.

The best part was that I got it about 40% off retail at TJ Maxx which definitely made my day.  I've only seen Sam Edelman shoes maybe twice before so I know it doesn't pass through these stores often.  It was a "I better get it before its gone" moment for me! Happy haul for me!

Its Been Awhile! New Shop Open

Its definitely been awhile since I've blogged. At least a month since my last post.  I was going to try and keep up with blogging but life is pretty hectic at the moment.

Between juggling work and me time, my family is my top priority at the moment.  I just can't find enough time in the day to do everything.  Still learning to adjust to not just have the two of us but the three of us.  Hopefully soon I can manage to do everything. Learning to be Wonder Woman is quite hard!

Any ways, I wanted to share a little bit of what I've been doing the past month.  I've opened up cute Facebook boutique online and would love to share it with you all.  I've just added a few items, but will continue to add more cuteness to the shop.  A little jewelry, hair accessories, and other things I may have in mind.

The boutique is called Love, Grace.

All items with be sent "with Love, from Grace". A little love from my little baby blessing.

Please stop by and LIKE and SHARE with everyone!

If you are interested, please feel free to message me!

Beauty Empties (A First!)

I must admit it, I do love collecting beauty items.  It just sits there and look pretty whether it be eye shadow palettes, skin care samples, mascaras, eye liners, or blush.  There are some items that I forget that I even have because of the clutter of samples and items I don't touch or have it in a different bin. I tell myself I will eventually get to it and use it however I don't.  Maybe its too pretty to use or I should save it.  That's been my mentality so far.

However that's not quite the mentality of the Mr. All he sees is just a clutter mess of items that I don't use and just collect.  I mean he collects stuff too so he doesn't say much, but I do admit my vanity can be a mess at times.

So in light of my ever cluttered vanity mess, I decided to go about doing Beauty Empties post about products that I have finally used or cleared out.  I need to do this, so this will motivate me to use the items I have and then be able to buy more! Yay to that.

Jan-Feb empties:

1. Revlon Beyond Natural Concealer & Highlighter
~ I picked up this Concealer/Highlighter on a whim. The color was a bit off but not something I couldn't work with.  The concealer was creamy and easy to work with but not as matte nor full coverage as I would have liked.  I didn't really use the highlighter as much as it was too light for my skin and did not show up much.
Repurchase: I probably would not repurchase

2. Sonia Kashuk Concealer Palette - Hidden Agenda 07
~ I've had this for some time now and decided to finish it. I like that it does have three different concealer colors however for me, I had to blend two of the colors together to get what I needed. The powder was okay but a little hard to use. The consistency is pretty good its just the colors may not match well.  Overall this is a good concealer palette to try out.
Repurchase: Yes I would

3. MAC C-Thru Lipglass
~ This is one of my favorite MAC lipglasses. Its a nude pink color with a like pink shimmer.  Other than the stickier consistency (which is common) I like the product.
Repurchase: Yes I would

4. MAC Nuance Blush
~ One of my Favorite blushes that I use often. I'm already on my second one which is close to being done as well. Blush colors are coral and pink with hints of shimmer.  The only con would be that it is limited edition. I had to look all over for my second one. So you anyone has a spare and don't need it, send it my way!!
Repurchase: Yes if I can find one

There goes my first list of empties.  I hope I get through more this month at least one.

Use it up!!

Time for a new bag??

My purse that I've been using is pretty old and worn out.  So I've been meaning to get a new bag for some time now.  I just haven't found any that I liked or may work out for me.

I like bigger bags like totes and shoulder bags. I tend to carry lots of stuff as well especially with a new baby, a bigger bag will definitely help out instead of carrying a diaper bag and my purse. I don't seem as picky when shopping for purses, but somehow I never end up with one I really like.  It takes me so much time to pick one out that I just quit. Looking for the right length, size, and material is pretty much what I really look for.

So today while I was browsing on Ebay, I decided to look up some purses on the site.  Surprisingly, I did find a few non brand bags that I kind of liked and would probably buy.  They are pretty cheap too which is a plus.  The only downside would be that I can't see them in person so I can't try them on and can't feel the material.

Here's what I found so far:

Which one do you think I should get? I really like the last one, however not in black but in the gray color which is not available.  I'm a little hesitant if I should get one on Ebay like I said earlier about not seeing it in person.  The prices are pretty cheap all under $20, which is good in my wallet.  I would love to have all those high end bags as well, but my wallet is totally not having it at the moment, so none of those at the moment.

I'll definitely keep an eye out again for more bags I may like and share them with you. Let me know if you have a bagI may like. Share!

Have you bought purses on EBAY before?

Care For Some Spring Fresh Rolls?

One of my favorite Asian foods or snacks would be Spring Rolls or otherwise Fresh Rolls. Yes, there are different types of spring rolls out there with many types of fillings. I think I like almost all of them. The only ones I kind of dislike would be the ones with tons of veggie fillers and not enough meats or noodles. I'll probably still eat them anyways cause I like them that much.  All I need is my Peanut Sauce.

Here's a version that I love eating that my SIL made for us one day:
(sorry only one picture, should have taken more)

Ingredients:

Spring Roll wrapper
Egg Roll wrapper (rolled skinny and fried)
Chives
Deli Meat (we used ham and turkey)
Cilantro
Lettuce
(Any other fillers you would like, but we made it simple)

Peanut Sauce *I"ll have to share this one day*

This is a very simple recipe, no need for lots of cooking. The only labor part would deep frying the egg roll wrapper and assembling the spring roll together. However with lots of people helping, it doesn't take long to assemble them.  I just love to assemble and eat right away, that's my take on it.

The best part that I like of this version is the crunchy egg roll piece in the spring roll. Gives it awesome texture. Add some Peanut Sauce or Sweet Hoisin Sauce and you have a yummy snack to enjoy.

I want some now!
